As important as diet, hydration should not be overlooked and requires special attention.
When you are active, your body will sweat more to help you cool off. It is therefore important not to rely solely on your thirst, but to hydrate yourself regularly before, during and after practicing your sports activity.
Prepare well
Whether walking, running, cycling, tennis, or weight training, it is recommended that you start hydration two hours before the start of your session. This helps maintain an optimal state of hydration.
Stay hydrated
While active, try to drink between 150 and 200 mL every 15 to 20 minutes to keep your muscles well hydrated. If you plan to workout for about an hour, plan on a bottle of water of about 500 mL.
Recover well
Finally, drink after you finish your exercise. Rehydration will reduce the risk of kidney stones, promote cell building and help eliminate waste.
